For the 8th straight year the Nipissing Lakers will be saying thanks to the military.

Their annual game in support of the Military Family Resource Centre will be held Friday night at the Gardens against the RMC Paladins.

22 Wing Commander Col. Henrik Smith says this event has raised 20 Thousand Dollars in its first 7 years.

And the money goes for a wide range of things for military families who deal with service members being away for long periods of time.

He says the list includes car trouble, extra day care, job openings and where to register your kids for school.

Tessa Clermont is the centre’s executive director. She says last year 1800 Dollars was raised from this game

The Lakers will be wearing new camouflage uniforms which will be auctioned off after the game and the winning bidders will receive the unis then.

Game time is 7:15.

If you’re going to the game you’re encouraged to wear red so you can support our troops.
