spring runoffSo far, so good for the spring melt and flood forecasting in the North Bay area.

That’s the word from the Conservation Authority.

Officials say conditions are ideal for the slow release of water from the snow pack, with daytime temperatures above zero and nighttime temperatures being close to freezing.

They also say even though precipitation was below average this winter, the mid-April snow depth is significantly higher than normal for this time of the year.

Meantime, with a lot of rain Monday’s forecast, for the time being, runoff together with the rapid snow melt could increase the risk of flooding.
