Police (north bay)A swearing-in ceremony is taking place at North Bay Police Headquarters tomorrow (Friday).

This after two cadets recently completed their 12-week basic constable training at Ontario Police College.

Joshua BuchholzJoshua Buchholz (pictured right) was born in New Mexico and grew up in a military family, having lived in various places in the U-S and Canada.

He became a Canadian citizen in 2013 and is a graduate of St Joseph-Scollard Hall.

He has a diploma in Physical and Fitness Management from Cambrian College in Sudbury and a certificate in Aircraft Structural Repair from Canadore College.

Buchholz has work experience as a methods agent in the aerospace industry.

He holds a blue belt in Chinese Shao-Lin Kung Fu, is a certified fitness consultant, and has volunteered as a football coach, a firefighter and a kickbox instructor.

Nathan ShankNathan Shank (pictured left) was born in Manitoba and graduated from high school in Ottawa (St. Peter Catholic High School), where he obtained an Ontario Scholar award and a French Language Certificate.

He is a graduate of Canadore College’s Police Foundations Program.

Shank also obtained an Honours B.A. in Criminal Justice from Nipissing University.

He has working experience as a part-time Special Constable with the North Bay Police Service.

In a release, Police Chief Paul Cook says, “We look forward to celebrating this important milestone with our two cadets who officially become police constables on this day”.

He goes on to say, “We join their friends and family in congratulating them on this significant achievement and wish them a long and rewarding career with us.”
