Four Nipissing varsity teams are in action this weekend.

In OUA women’s hockey, Nipissing plays Guelph in a match-up of two nationally ranked teams tomorrow at 4:30 pm.

The Lakers are 8th in Canada while the Gryphons are 4th.

Nipissing is home to Brock on Saturday.

In men’s hockey, the Lakers host RMC for Military Appreciation Night tomorrow at 7:15pm.

Head coach Mike McParland is hoping for a good crowd.

They also host Carleton on Saturday.

And both Nipissing basketball teams are in Toronto this weekend, playing Ryerson tomorrow and the University of Toronto on Saturday.

Only one game this weekend for the Canadore men’s basketball team.

They’re home to Centennial tomorrow night (Fri).

The Panthers are 3-4 on the season while the Colts are 5-1.

Meantime, both Canadore volleyball teams entertain Loyalist on Saturday and Seneca on Sunday.

A home and home set for the Powassan Voodoos over the next few days.

Powassan travels to Noelville tomorrow (Fri) to take on French River.

Both teams meet up again at the Powassan Sportsplex on Monday night.

The Voodoos have won 12 straight games.

Powassan is ranked 8th nationally and leads the NOJHL standings with 39 points.

The North Bay Midget AAA Trappers play twice this weekend.

They host Kapuskasing at West Ferris Arena both Saturday and Sunday at 1:30 pm.

The Trappers have won 9 straight games and are atop the Great North Midget League standings with 31 points.
