“Southern Ontario is looking to the north to further growth”; that from Al Spacek. He is the President of the Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities, and he says the recent “State of the Summit” forum was a big success. Spacek says a panel, which included him and other officials from the north were speaking to the Toronto Market on Bay Street and Queens Park.

He says there are numerous partnerships that continue to look to the north to further their industries. Spacek says that includes the agricultural side.

He says there is a phenomenal amount of land that is available for agriculture, and the cost is reasonable.

There are no more opportunities for further expansion in southern Ontario as it’s either become urban land or already being produced on. He adds, the growth is in northern Ontario.

The event was put on to show the opportunities available to businesses and industry leaders in the north.
