conservation authorityIf the local snow survey readings are any indication it’s still winter out there.  The North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority says snow depth is well over twice above normal for this time of year close to two weeks into spring. The depth varies from 51 Centimetres in Corbeil to 60 at Chippewa Creek in North Bay.  Water content is also high. It’s well over twice the normal range in North Bay, Corbeil and Chisholm.  Water content can be a good indication of spring time flooding if we get a sudden amount of rain.

The stats also say the current snow depth is down from a year ago at all 3 reading stations.
