City Hall2There will be a couple of presentations on the Fire Department at Monday night’s Council meeting.

In a release, the International Association of Fire Fighters say there presentation will be on Fire Service levels, and includes a presentation from former Ontario Fire Marshal Patrick Burke.

Mayor Al McDonald says Council has recently approved changes to those service levels.

He says there are pros and cons, but the proposal will save upwards of $275,000 a year.

McDonald says they are trying to find a balance between providing services and keeping a low tax rate.

There are 7 items in total on the agenda, including a vote to be held on the Capital Projects budget.

McDonald says he believes it will pass, although some Councillors were hoping there could be more money for more projects.

He says he’s happy a couple of major roads are expected to be done, including Pinewood Park Dr. and Ferguson St.

As well, Wallace Road could be the site of several new developments.  McDonald says a developer has a proposal for nine lots in that area. He says it’s a piece of North Bay that does get the attention of developers.
