school suppliesImproving student programming and updating schools; those are the goals behind Ontario’s Grants for Student Needs.

The grants announced last week will help each of the 72 school boards across the province each year.

The funding came in at $22.5-billion, but in speaking with officials with the Near North Board, they have yet to hear how much of that will come north.

Funding for this grant started in 2003 and since then the funding has increased by $8.1 billion annually.

There was also another investment of $500-million dollars to improve the conditions of Ontario’s schools.

The government is working on a community hubs framework to unlock the value of public space by promoting shared public use with partners.
