Nipissing-University

It’s an important couple of days for prospective Nipissing University students as there will be an open house at the post-secondary institution on Friday and Saturday. Carla Tucker is a senior student recruitment officer at the university. She says it’s a great chance to show off the university and the city to the students but also their family members.

She says they’re expecting 360 students and their families meaning over a thousand people will be here Friday and Saturday.

She says the university isn’t new to the students but the open house may give them a better feel on if Nipissing and the community is for them.

Tucker says open houses like this are where students and their family make the final decision on where they’ll attend school in the fall.

Tucker says students will get campus tours, meet professors, meet other students and decide whether Nipissing and North Bay are for them.

She believes open houses like this are where students decide if they’re attending Nipissing or not.
