NE LHINHospitals of all sizes in Northeastern Ontario are working together to improve pharmacy services. 27 pharmacy representatives from 25 hospitals recently got together in an effort to enhance patient care.  The project lead on this for the Northeast LHIN s Tamara Shewciw .  She says not all hospital’s have pharmacies and they’re trying to alleviate some of the issues.  One solution is for pharmacies in larger facilities to provide pharmacy services in smaller hospitals.

Shewciw was asked what this means for patients and she says they’ll get the best care possible whether you’re at a large, medium or small sized hospital.

She says the bottom line is that specialized drugs get to the patients that need it no matter the size of the hospital.
