Battalion-CKAT-Official-210x155 The final weekend of the regular season begins Thursday for the North Bay Battalion as they host the Ottawa 67’s. The Battalion defeated the 67’s 7-3 combined in the first two games of their season series. But North Bay fell 6-5 in a shootout in their last encounter on February 8th. Battalion Head Coach Stan Butler was asked about what’s been the key to the 67’s improvement over this year.

He says they have a mature defensive squad with five 19 year olds on the backend.

He adds they’ve been getting good scoring out of their top line and Goaltender Liam Herbst has played well.

The 67’s are two points behind the Battalion for third place in the Eastern Conference and depending on how the last three games go, the Troops could finish anywhere between 2nd and 5th in the East.

Catch the Battalion as they enter the final stretch of the regular season on Country-600 CKAT, starting with the pregame at 6:35pm.

Meantime, the Powassan Voodoos got two goals from Jake Staples and won game 4 of their east division semi final series against Kirkland Lake Wednesday night in Powassan.

The 4-3 win gives the Voodoos a 3-1 lead in the series.  David Sherman and Aaron Dart also scored for the winners.
