The North Bay and District Humane Society reporting a Sturgeon Falls man has plead guilty to two counts of Animal Cruelty.

 

The charges include failure to provide care necessary for an animal’s general welfare, as well as failure to provide adequate and appropriate veterinary medical attention.

 

This came about as the Humane Society received a report about the death of a kitten in the care of the accused.

The male acknowledged the kitten had been ill and he had not provided proper care or took any steps to seek medical attention.

 

It was conducted the kitten had died from starvation and a severe flea infestation.

 

Joel Larocque of Sturgeon Falls was charged and will pay $600-dollar in restitution, as well as receiving a 10-year prohibition from living with or owning any animal.
