medical_doctorEfforts continue towards physician recruitment locally. A creative problem solving session was held this week involving the mayor and city CAO, officials with the North Bay Regional Health Centre, community partners, family doctors and family practice residents and students.  The hospital successfully recruited 10 physicians last year with the focus now moving to primary care because of the increasing number of doctors reaching retirement age and practice closure.  Officials say the session established the beginnings of an action plan and focused on themes like how to support physicians in establishing practices in the city.
