Tomorrow (Friday) is a special day for 66 Nipissing Lakers.

They’re being honoured for their work outside of sports. 61 student-athletes will receive the CIS Academic All-Canadian recognition while five Nordic Skiers will receive the OUA Academic Achievement Award.

A recognition breakfast is taking place at the Education Centre.

 

The North Bay Midget AAA Trappers are in Waterloo this weekend.

They’re taking part in the Gold Cup Tournament.

Games begin tonight (Thursday) and wrap up on Sunday.

The Trappers return to league action December 16th, with three games in three days against the second place Soo Greyhounds, in Sault Ste Marie.

 

The Powassan Voodoos aren’t back in action until Monday night when the host Kirkland Lake.

In the meantime, officials with the NOJHL Club have announced their first ever Christmas Hockey School December 27th, 28th, 29th and 30th.

The full-day camp is available for boys and girls and will be held at the Powassan Sportsplex.

The cost is $295 per player and $150 per goaltender.
