Just buying a toque or a ball cap or some mitts can support the Nipissing Transition House. Janine Lafreniere is executive director of the organization.

She says they’ve partnered with Raising The Roof a national homelessness prevention initiative.

She says half of the proceeds from the sales of the mitts, caps and toques will support the transition house through their fill the fridge initiative.

She says the women and children who leave the shelter will receive a fridge full of food through this campaign as they begin a new life.

She says the toque’s cost either 10 or 20 Dollars, the mitts are 20 dollars and the caps are also 20 dollars.

If you want to purchase these items you can contact Janine at the Transition House..

Lafreniere says if you’d like to purchase one of the items call here at 705-476-2569.

She says they will be out in the community in February at the Northgate Shopping Centre as well.

The campaign is on going until the end of March.

She says they have no fundraising goal since this is the first year of the initiative
