The North Bay Battalion are back into the win column.

They won 2-1 in Ottawa yesterday afternoon (Sunday), ending their 9 game losing streak.

Justin Brazeau and Brett Hargrave scored for North Bay.

Brent Moran made 34 saves in the win.

Next up, the Battalion host Mississauga on Thursday night.

 

The Voodoos 25 game winning streak is over, but their 26 game unbeaten streak continues.

This after Powassan and Kirkland Lake tied 2-2 yesterday afternoon.

The Voodoos are off until Friday when they travel to Michigan to take on the Soo Eagles.

 

The North Bay Midget AAA Trappers won 4-1 over the Soo Greyhounds yesterday.

Four different Trappers scored in the win.

North Bay leads the Great North Midget League with 49 points, six more than the Soo.

The Trappers are back in action next weekend.

They’re in Timmins Friday night with games in Kapuskasing on Saturday and Sunday.

 

North Bay Pole Vaulter Alison Fung opened the indoor varsity track and field season with a second-place finish at a meet at the University of Toronto on Saturday.

The Guelph Gryphons athlete hit a season opening height of 3.36m.

She also qualified for the OUA championship coming up next month at York University.

Fung, a 5th year athlete, has had a successful varsity career so far with two OUA gold, One OUA silver, One CIS gold and one CIS silver with her team in her four year career with the Gryphons.

She was also honoured as a CIS Academic All Canadian in 2015 and 2016.

Next weekend Fung will travel with the Gryphon team to Windsor for the annual Can Am Classic.
