The snowfall warning ended last night (Tuesday) but then came the light rain and warmer temperatures overnight, leading to some flooding and large puddles for motorists to navigate in the city.

It was plus 3 degrees at the airport at 1 am.

There’s also strong winds, that were gusting up to 78 km/h around five o’clock this morning.

The forecast is calling for mainly sunny conditions this afternoon, but more snow is on the way tonight with 5-10 cm possible.

 

Meantime, school transportation officials report all school buses have been cancelled across the district because of icy conditions and strong winds making for poor road conditions.

Schools remain open.

 

OPP report Hwy 11 North between North Bay and New Liskeard was closed for a few hours overnight because of weather and road conditions.

The roadway was back open at 5 am.

 

North Bay Hydro reports a two hour power outage for 1850 customers in the West Ferris area last night.

The cause was a downed conductor on the bulk supply lines feeding the area.

The power was restored around 11 o’clock.

Another 15 customers were back online just after 3:30 this morning.
