Anthony RotaRegional politicians, including MP Anthony Rota, were involved in a round table discussion with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau yesterday (Thursday) in Sudbury.

The PM was there to announce $26.7 million in infrastructure funding for an $80-million project (Maley Drive Extension).

Rota expects there will be more funding announcements on the way for the north.

He says the budget detailed a number of infrastructure possibilities and it’s up to municipalities to put forward ideas and priorities when they apply for funding.

Rota also says the infrastructure project announced yesterday will help put people to work in Sudbury, they’ll be travelling more, spending more and creating wealth.

He anticipates the same happening in North Bay with other projects.

He also says he gets along with other regional politicians and MP’s from the north, pointing out they have to speak with one voice and that’s working well in Ottawa.
