A 5-goal outburst in the 3rd period propelled the Soo Greyhounds over the North Bay Battalion 7-4 yesterday afternoon (Sunday).

Head Coach Stan Butler says when you’re up 4-2 midway though the final frame, the older players have to step up and shut the game down.

He says late penalties eventually sunk them.

Along with Kyle Potts, the top line of Brett McKenzie, Max Kislinger, and Steve Harland each chipped in goals in the loss.

Next up, the Troops entertain the Guelph Storm on Thursday from Memorial Gardens.

In the NOJHL, the Powassan Voodoos entertain Iroquois Falls tonight at the Powassan Sportsplex.

Game time is 7:30 pm.

The playoffs are set for the North Bay Midget AAA Trappers.

They wrapped up the regular season in first place and have a bye through the first round.

The Trappers will play against either New Liskeard or Kapuskasing in the semifinals beginning the weekend of February 18th, here in North Bay.

In OCAA volleyball, the Canadore women won 3-nothing over George Brown while the men lost 3-0.
