Jacobs-main-2-637x424Eight teams are about to converge on the North Bay Granite Club for the Northern Ontario Men’s Provincial Curling Championship.

That includes defending Olympic Gold medalist Brad Jacobs’ rink from the Sault.

The event gets started on Wednesday and runs through Sunday.

Jacobs says they’ve played all of the teams they’ll be taking on at provincials, but says it’ll be a tough event and they won’t be taking anyone lightly.

The winner of the local event advances to the Brier next month in Ottawa.

Jacobs says it’s been at least a decade since he has curled here in North Bay.

He says it’s a nice curling club and the community gets behind their curling so they’re looking forward to the event.
