North Bay City Council got a chance to learn last night about the city’s new proposed 10 year strategic plan.

It has five major priorities, but the one getting most of the interest from council concerns the phrase “affordable balanced growth”.

Presenting the plan was Jocelyn Deeks of Strategy Corp.

She says this priority has a few themes in it, based on what they heard in community consultations.

She says people want to see growth, but they recognize that it be done with affordability in mind.

Deeks says people also said there needs to be balance in decisions regarding infrastructure and maximizing the infrastructure the city has.

Some of the other priorities include a spirited, safe community and responsible and responsive government.

They’re also recommending the plan has 4 major areas of performance management including annual reporting on the plan by staff.
