Plenty of presentations to Council last night (Tuesday) about future spending.

They covered a number issues including the King’s Landing Pier Development and Downtown Waterfront Masterplan.

Resident Murray Cooper started a petition and has over 300 signatures.

He opposes spending on the downtown and the waterfront, but specifically the proposed $13.5-million pier development.

Cooper says the city should be repairing the dock, but also look for other governments to help.

He says that would free up more funds for something the city actually needs, like improved infrastructure.

There were a couple of presentations in support of the downtown waterfront master plan.

Chair of Community Services Mark King says the master plan and the dock are just two major projects the city has to make a decision on.

He says other big projects are the development at Casselholme and the future of the West Ferris Arena.
