Big news for the Appleby family in North Bay this week as Ken Appleby was called up to the NHL by the New Jersey Devils.

He was in the lineup last night but didn’t play in the Devils loss to Colorado.

His Mom Tina was so excited to hear the news that her son was called up to the NHL.

She says it’s been a whirlwind couple of days.

Tina says when Ken gave her the good news she picked up her jaw from the floor.

She says she’s so glad Ken is reaching his career goal.

The Devils next game will be in Arizona tomorrow night.

She jokes she was getting texts last night after Colorado scored it was time to make a goaltending change and put her son in net.
