The North Bay Midget AAA Trappers won bronze at the Central Regionals on Sunday with a 6-3 win over the host Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves.

Six different Trappers scored, including Eric Mondoux, who also picked up 3 assists.

North Bay led 2-1 after one period of play thanks to goals from Jake Gravelle and Pacey Schleueting.

The Trappers extended their lead to 5-1 after two periods with goals from Mason McMahon, Eric Lachance and Nick Wojick.

After two Sudbury goals in the third, Eric Mondoux would seal the Trappers victory with North Bay’s sixth goal.

Goalie Joel Rainville made 27 saves in the win.

Eight Trappers who were named to Team NOHA for the OHL Cup will now take part in the OHL Gold Cup next month (May 4th to 7th) in Kitchener/Waterloo.

That’s the first step in Hockey Canada’s Program of Excellence, which concludes with the World Junior Championship.
