pipelineAbout 200 residents turned out to hear some information on the Energy East pipeline project.

It was hosted by the Stop Energy East group and members of the Council of Canadians presented.

Michael Ivany says it’s rewarding to see this many people show they care about the community they live in.

Ivany helped set up the event which included findings from a new study on the risks and potential impacts of the project.

He says letting the project move forward could be damaging too many people.

He says it’s not just the drinking water but people’s quality of life will be affected to.

The presentations covered the risks of diluted bitumen spills, pipeline safety and potential impacts.

Ivany says the best thing people can do at this stage is stay informed and let other people know about the impact this project could have on them.
