Former Battalion goalie Brent Moran is staying in North Bay this fall.

After completing his overage year with the Troops, Moran will play for the Nipissing Lakers, while studying Criminal Justice at the University.

Moran joins Brett Hargrave as the second Battalion player to commit to Nipissing in the past few weeks.

The five year OHL veteran is looking forward to joining the Lakers.

“I’m very excited to join a team and community like Nipissing. I have a lot of friends here so I am looking forward to going to school and playing hockey all at once,” Moran said.

Lakers head coach Mike McParland said Moran’s experience, ability and resume should help the program get back to the post-season.

“We are very pleased to announce that Brent has committed to Nipissing University as our second North Bay Battalion Player in the last six weeks,” he said. “Brent brings his 4 years of OHL experience to Nipissing to help us solidify our goaltending.”
