North Bay Police North Bay Police have issued a release about handling people who are conducting door to door sales.

Corporate Communications Co-ordinator Marie Lugli says anyone selling a product door to door must have a city license to do so.

She suggests you ask to see it and if they don’t have it let the city know by calling the bylaw enforcement officer.

She says also look for a photo id.

Lugli says another issue is high pressure tactics being used by the seller.

She says if you are concerned contact police.

Lugli says don’t accept delivery of any products.

She says you have a right to cancel any contract you’ve signed within 10 days and for water heater contracts it is double that.

Also don’t sign a contract before you research the business.

Lugli says if you don’t feel comfortable you’re under no obligation to deal with the person.
