New Technology for Canadore Facility

ICAMP has evolved. Canadore College opened up ICAMP 2.0 for the public to experience and learn about the new additions to the facility.

Some of the new technologies brought in include augmented reality software, simulation software, and a 3D metal printer.

ICAMP 2.0 has the distinction of being the only facility in North America to house all this different type of technology.

Canadore President George Burton says ICAMP 2.0 is about helping companies grow organically. He says it is also about helping local talent, and attracting new companies to the area.

Burton calls ICAMP 2.0 a community facility, saying it’s where the ideas are tested and created.

He says over 200 projects have been done in the facility with 200 different companies; which has helped to support 107 jobs for northern Ontario.

ICAMP first opened its doors back in September 2013.
