This past weekend, the Almaguin Highlands detachment of the OPP was checking for aggressive driving, speeding, distracted driving and driving while impaired.

Overall, 101 speeding charges were laid, there were 16 charges for motorists not having a insurance card, there were two charges under the off road vehicle act and one motorist was charged for having no insurance.

Meantime, two people, a six year old and an 80 year old were reported missing on Saturday. Police say they were located and in good health.

North Bay OPP have charged  a 21 year old South Himsworth Township man was charged with impaired driving and having over 80 mg in his system.

Powassan OPP laid the charges just after 6 am on Saturday after observing a vehicle driving erratically on Highway 522 in Nipissing Township.

Also, a 21 year old Wooler, Ontario male was charged with having over 80 after North Bay OPP initiated a traffic stop near Highways 11 and 17 just past midnight Friday morning.

As well, North Bay OPP charged a 53 year old male from Madawaska Township with refusing or failing to provide a breath sample.

This happened close to 6 pm last Saturday night.
