Some federal funding has been earmarked for needed electrical upgrading work at Jack Garland Airport.

Ottawa is providing $890,000 for the rehabilitation of the essential airfield electric power system.

Last week we told you North Bay City Council approved their $300,000 share of the project.

The federal money comes from the Airports Capital Assistance Program.

Improvements worth $41.7-million will be made at 34 airports across Canada.
