It’s alleged that between June 2015 and March 2016, all three women, who are related to each other were stealing and forging cheques from a family member and cashing them for personal gain.

Police say the forged cheques amounted to over $20,000.

A 30 year old woman has been charged with one count of fraud over $5,000 and 16 of uttering forged documents, a 24 year old woman has been charged with one count of fraud over $5000 and 17 uttering forged document charges while a 25 year old woman has been charged with one count each of fraud under $5,000 and uttering forged documents.

Meantime, North Bay Police are warning the public about a “Reader’s Digest” letter scam that was reported to them yesterday (Monday).

There were no victims.

Police say the scam letter claims you’re the “randomly selected” “lucky winner” of over $2 million dollars.

They say do not contact the sender and do not send any personal or banking information, just destroy the letter.
