A Canadian, family company that has over 70 stores across Canada takes ownership of Music City in North Bay this weekend.

Long & McQuade Musical Instruments has been in operation for over 60 years.

Store Manager James Miles describes what customers will notice with the change.

“We have a wide range of products and brands available, so they’ll see some new things that maybe haven’t been easily available in North Bay. We have a pretty wide range of services when it comes to rentals, rent-to-own and school instruments,” he says.

Miles says part of their mission is to try to make introduction to music accessible and pretty much available to everyone.

Meantime, he says there’s the potential for growth too.

“We’re keeping all the staff from Music City, we’ve got some great guys here that I’ve had the opportunity to meet through the week. As we get rolling and as things get busier like we would expect with the new services and brands that we’ll have on offer, we’ll see what comes up,” Miles says.

He says after being approached by Music City to join forces they liked what they saw in North Bay.
