The North Bay Police Service is inviting the community to come out to the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run Monday.

Corporate Communications Coordinator Marie Lugli says the annual fundraiser supports Special Olympics Ontario.

“What’s special about this year is it’s actually the 30th anniversary of the Torch Run and we’ve always been very proud hosts. We’re hoping for runners and walkers to join us for a wonderful barbecue celebration with members of the community of the Special Olympics,” she says.

Everyone is encouraged to meet in the back parking lot at city police headquarters at 10 am, with the Torch Run getting underway at 10:30 am.

The fundraising barbecue takes place at 11:30 am.

Lugli says they’ll have hot dogs and hamburgers for sale, but that’s not all.

“We’re also selling t-shirts that we do every year, so if you want to come down and help our Special Olympic Athletes and support this wonderful cause, we welcome everyone to join us,” she says.

All proceeds will go to support Special Olympics Ontario.
