100 firefighters from Ontario are heading to Fort McMurray to help battle the massive wildfire that has so far burned 1,600 structures in the Alberta city.

Premier Kathleen Wynne made the announcement today.

Ontario is also providing 19 logistical support staff.

Officials with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry tell our newsroom specifics on where those fire crews are based is not yet known, however most are from northern Ontario.

They’re being deployed on Friday.
