The Powassan Voodoos have made a major trade.

They’ve sent goalie Nate McDonald (pictured) and the rights to forward Austin Ramirez to Whitby of the OJHL and in return acquired two players, defenseman Alex Boudreau and forward Tiger McDonald plus cash.

Last season, Nate McDonald was named NOJHL MVP and led the Voodoos to the NOJHL title.

Last season, Tiger McDonald scored 18 goals and added 21 assists for 39 points in games for Whitby and Pickering.

Boudreau had 11 points last season for the Fury.

Voodoos General Manager Chris Dawson says Nate McDonald is one of the classiest young men he’s ever dealt with in hockey.

A couple days after the McDonald trade, Powassan acquired netminder Shayne Battler from Fort Erie of the GOJHL.

In 33 games last season he earned a 3.40 goals against average and a .904 save percentage.

Battler was drafted by Sarnia in the 6th round in the OHL priority selection.
