The North Bay Heritage Gardeners are getting $50,000 in funding from the feds.

The money will be used to create a Canada 150 project.

There will be a new gathering place on North Bay’s waterfront to highlight diversity and inclusion.

The project will be timely as it also mark the gardeners 20th anniversary.

Canada Place 150 will serve as the entrance to the 53 garden beds across from the pedestrian underpass and the project is expected to be complete in the fall.

Children at the Lyndsey Weld Centre for Children and new Canadians through the auspices of the North Bay and District Multi Cultural Centre will be involved in the planting of the new gardens.
