If you’re shopping around for waterfront housing, North Bay has one of the lowest median prices when compared to a variety of other Ontario communities.

That’s one finding in the 2017 RE/MAX Recreational Property Report.

The average 2016/17 median price locally is $286,000.

That is much lower than a host of other communities including:
Prince Edward County ($575,000)
Rideau Lakes ($452,000)
Orillia ($441,500)
Peterborough and Kawarthas ($425,000)
Parry Sound ($410,000)
Bruce Peninsula ($376,398)
Bancroft ($308,000)

Only the median price in Haliburton ($240,067) was less.

The report also finds that both sales and median price locally were up year over year.

The number of sales jumped 32 per cent to 131, while price was up $50,000.
