. A rally Wednesday outside the AIDS Committee of North Bay and area offices in downtown North Bay.

CUPE spokesperson Kathleen Jodouin says the rally was held for two reasons including getting a better deal for workers.

She says the workers deserve a fair contract and haven’t had a wage increase in 10 years.

Jodouin says they haven’t had a contract since last July and talks are at an impasse.

Jodouin says they could be out on strike as early as July 29th.

The other reason is to highlight funding issues for people who receive Hepatiti C and HIV services. She says the province holds the key to solving both issues. CUPE represents 12 workers at the AIDS Committee.
