The Move Over campaign will be a major focus for area opp this weekend.

Motorists are asked to move over on highways and roadways when they see police, fire and ambulance vehicles on the side of the road.

Slow down and pass with caution if the vehicle is on your side of the highway.

Police suggest you change your lane if your roadway has 2 or more lanes so there’s a lane between you and the emergency vehicle but only change when it’s safe to do so.

There are fines of between $400-$2,000 and 3 demerit points and a possible drivers license suspension for drivers not slowing down.

Meantime, officers will be out looking for the big four and that includes distracted, aggressive and impaired driving and the lack of proper seatbelt use.
