MPP Vic Fedeli and Powassan Mayor Peter McIsaac have teamed up with the Insurance Bureau of Canada to donate carbon monoxide detectors to local residents.

It’s being done to raise awareness about the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning.

25 carbon monoxide detectors have been donated to the Powassan Food Bank to be handed out locally.

Meantime, pointing to the closure of several small power generators in Ontario, including one in North Bay, Fedeli says it’s important to learn more about an electricity trading agreement the province entered into last fall with Quebec.

Ontario’s Financial Accountability Officer has agreed to review the deal.

This comes as reports suggest the province may be about to enter into another energy deal with Quebec.
