The city couldn’t buy the kind of great advertising they’re getting from a Hollywood production going on in North Bay this summer.

On Thursday, the cast and crew of Carter was filming scenes at the waterfront.

North Bay Mayor Al McDonald says this is a great way to showcase the city to visitors, but there’s also a direct $9-million economic impact to the local economy.

He says 100 local people are working as extras and businesses are seeing benefits throughout the time of the filming.

McDonald also says it’s pretty special when an actor like Jerry O’Connell comes to town and says your city is beautiful, the people are great and wants to live here.
