There’s a push on by the committee that’s trying to get the 2018 World Women’s Curling Championship in North Bay.

They will be hosting an open house from 4-8 pm Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at the North Bay Granite Curling Club.

The idea is to get people to commit to a full event pass for the event which costs 400.

The initial down payment commitment is 100 dollars.

Bennett says they need to have 900 commitments to be in contention to get the event.

Bennett says they are about a third of the way there.

He says people will be able to pick their seats at the Gardens once North Bay is confirmed as the host city for the championship.

The event will include 22 draws.

The local committee must submit their bid by the middle of June with the Canadian Curling Association announcing the winning city in August
