Nickel Belt MP talking international security in Romania

The MP for Nickel Belt, which includes West Nipissing, is in Romania.

MP Marc Serré is there for the 63rd NATO Parliamentary Assembly.

“Having grown up near CFB North Bay and the NORAD North Bay Underground Complex, I am keenly aware of how international security can impact local communities,” remarked Serré.

“Many have said that the world needs more Canada, and I look forward to engaging with our allies and sharing Northern Ontario and Canada’s perspective on a wide range of issues that affect international security and our national interests over the next three days,” said Serré.

The Session will bring together in Bucharest some 300 parliamentarians from the 29 NATO member countries from North America and Europe as well as delegates from partner countries and observers.

They will be discussing current international security issues and the reports and policy recommendations prepared by the Assembly’s Committees.
