The charges include carrying a concealed weapon, uttering threats, three counts of assault with a weapon, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and unauthorized possession of a weapon.

Police say at 1 am on Sunday a woman pulled out a folding knife at the North Bay Regional Health Centre while she was being held for a mental health assessment.

Police say a developmental services worker was threatened and assaulted.

The worker who wasn’t hurt contacted 2 security guards for help.

Police say the woman stabbed two separate doors which the guards were holding closed and one of the guards suffered minor injuries.

The woman was arrested at the health centre and taken to police headquarters and remains in custody.

City police are asking for the public’s assistance as they investigate a suspicious fire in Callander.

Police say they were dispatched around 8 o’clock Sunday night to Terrace Road where a trailer parked on a commercial property was burned beyond repair.

There were no injuries.

If anyone has any information, they’re asked to contact city police or Crime Stoppers.

The results are in from the fourth annual Prescription Drugs Drop-off Day on the weekend.

City police say 100 pounds was collected, including 60 pounds of unused or expired medication.

City police teamed up with the Stay on Your Feet Coalition and the Health Unit for the event.

Police say people can return their unused or expired prescription or over-the-counter medications to any pharmacy for safe disposal all year.
