Forest fire hazard differs across the district

Depending on where you are in the North Bay MNRF District the fire hazard rating differs.

It’s listed as high in the Powassan area to moderate in the North Bay area and low in the Temiskaming Shores area.

There have been eight forest fires in the district so far this season.

The latest is less than a hectare in size near Cobalt and is listed as being under control.
