The Nipissing and Area Food Roundtable is digging deeper into food insecurity with a forum taking place tomorrow (Thursday).

Officials say food insecurity involves inadequate or insecure access to food because of financial constriants.

They point out that poverty is the root cause and it’s a serious health problem.

Tomorrow’s event, titled “Hungry for Change: Food Insecurity Forum: takes place at the Discovery North Bay Museum.

Keynote speakers will relay their research and a northern perspective.

Food insecurity in Nipissing will also be discussed by a local panel.

The afternoon sessions will focus on communities taking action.
