It’s going to be a white Christmas in North Bay, but it’s going to be cold too.

Meteorologist with The Weather Network Doug Gillham says the snow is here to stay, but he also says we can expect bitterly cold temperatures over the holidays.

“Siberian Air will be headed to the eastern prairies and the Great Lakes region, including North Bay and it’s going to stick around for the remainder of 2017 and even into early January,” he says.

Gillham predicts temperatures well below zero.

“High temperatures between minus 15 and minus 20, that’s the high temperatures, not the windchill, during the week leading up to New Years,” he says.

Gillham says the bitter cold forecast won’t be with us all winter, but it will be the norm for a few weeks.
