The extreme cold is now record breaking in the North Bay area.

As an extreme cold warning continues, the mercury dropped to minus 32 at five o’clock this morning (Wednesday).

It fell even further to minus 33.3 at 7 am.

All in all, it surpasses the 1951 record low of minus 31.7.

We were 1.3 degrees shy of the 1993 record yesterday when the temperature bottomed out at minus 32.3.
