(Photo submitted) Stefanie von Pfetten is starring in “Thornwood Heights” which begins filming in North Bay on Monday.

It’s called “Thornwood Heights” and the Lifetime feature film is shooting in North Bay this month.

Casting Director Brian Levy says they’re putting out the call for a number of background actors along with some special skills extras.

He says it’s fun to be an extra, pointing out there aren’t any lines to learn. “It’s a great stepping stone for anybody who’s thinking of being an actor, thought they might want to be an actor, or just want to check out the scene. You get to be on set, you get to meet out leading players.”

The movie stars Stefanie von Pfetten (Cracked) as Jennifer Riley, Steve Byers as Haiden Blake, Fulvio Cecere as Tommy Riley, Tahmoh Penikett as Santos Alvarez.

It involves a New York City detective who comes back to her hometown after her sister is accused of murder.

There are also plans for two more movies in the series after this one.

In terms of the local film industry, Levy says North Bay is getting busier with filming as more and more people take notice. “It’s been hugely noticed. In the acting community in Toronto at the auditions (you hear) all the time, ‘Hey, where were you last week?’ ‘Oh, I was up in North Bay, I was up in Sudbury’ There’s just tons of shooting up in the North, it’s tremendous.”

The special skills extras they’re looking for include:
Male (Young Haiden) – 17-22 yrs – 5’11 – 6’2″ – blonde or light brown hair – Blue eyes – athletic (not muscular) build. Clean shaven.
Female (Young Jennifer) 17-22yrs – 5’7-5’10” – Blonde. Slim build. Attractive.
Another female, 17-22 yrs, Caucasian, attractive and fit
(These roles are for flashback scenes as younger versions of actors already cast)
These roles will shoot June 15, 2016.

Those interested in interviewing for these roles can email brian@brianlevycasting.ca – they should send their name, age, height, weight and a selfie!
