It’s bitterly cold, but it’s not record breaking.

The January 5th record low temperature is minus 33.9, set in 1959.

Yesterday, we were over 10 degrees shy of the minus 37.1 record that was set in 1981.

Tomorrow’s record of minus 38.3, set in 1945, is likely safe too (thankfully).

The windchill is a different story with an extreme cold warning still in effect locally.

The extreme wind chills are expected to continue tonight in most regions.
